My Experience with Internet Marketing Coaching
No matter what level of Internet marketing experience you have, you should always have access to someone who is where you want to be both professionally and financially. My experience with one-on-one coaching programs has always been poor. I either get lined up with someone who has far less experience than I do on the Internet or the program content value itself falls way short of the price. I’ve paid up to $4500 for such programs and have always walked away disappointed.
Group coaching programs have even been worse. The most expensive group coaching program I sat in on was $300 per month. I would have to call a long distance phone number and sit on the phone listening to unorganized and unprepared droning by the session leader for sometimes 3 hours straight! Who needs that?
My “First” Introduction to Kirt Christensen was Less Than Stellar
At the very first Internet marketing conference I went to in the year 2000 (I think it was anyway), I was completely blown away by all the presenters…except one. His name was Kirt Christensen. “He was the guy I would never buy anything from,” was what I told the guy next to me, because at that time Kirt was in my view a speaker that needed a lot of work. His presentation was so distracting I couldn’t tell you 10 minutes later what he talked about.
That was then.
My 2nd Introduction to Kirt Christensen–My New Best Friend!
In October of 2008, Kirt presented at Armand Morin’s BIG Seminar, which I attend every time it’s offered. By now I know most of the presenters personally, but I never had another opportunity to meet Kirt since that dreadful day in 2000. So I was excited to see how he’s come along with his presentation skills.
Well, to sum it up, Kirt gave the most informative (and advanced) presentation of all the speakers at the 3-day event. Half of the audience had no idea what he was talking about because he was talking to those of us who had a pretty good deal of experience on the web already.
Did I Buy What Kirt was Selling?
I really connected that day with Kirt and I forked over the big bucks for his package deal. The package deal consisted of sitting in on a live webinar series for intermediate and advanced web marketers who “already” manage Google AdWords campaigns.
So, that program was great. I’ve sat through 4 AdWords series so far by other Internet experts and no one can come close to Kirt’s program. But, the best part of the package deal that I got was something I totally forgot he even offered from the stage. And, I didn’t discover it until two months after I left the conference…
What’s the Most Important Part of Kirt’s Program?
Almost every Friday morning, Kirt conducts an hour-long mastermind session. I’ll first connect to Kirt’s computer through Live Meeting. Then I’ll activate my microphone to work right through my computer so that I can participate in the conversation. Kirt comes on the line at 10am (Mountain Time) sharp and there are usually 20 or so of us on the call.
Kirt then spends 20 or so minutes presenting an Internet marketing topic of the week. Last week, he demonstrated a phone/email system he’s been testing that he’s reported has increased his e-mail open rates to more than 75%!
The week before that, he covered a highly advanced training session for using Google Analytics with conversion tracking code. I had to watch that one 4 times!
The week before that, we just had an open forum where the entire hour was taken up by people on the call just asking questions. I remember offering a few critiques of my own for someone’s copywriting on their landing page. Some new friends (and Twitter followers) were even made that day.
And, that’s the point. After every 20 minutes presentation by Kirt, he opens up the floor to anyone with a burning question. Then he’ll answer the question by showing the solution live through his computer and Live Meeting.
How You Can Get a Better Deal than I Did
Now, I bought the package deal for $2500 and I attended the AdWords webinars that were promised. But, the most important part of the program is the weekly Friday call. In fact, if I were to do it again, I would’ve been totally happy paying the $2500 if the ONLY thing I got out of it was access to the Friday calls.
It’s such an uplifting experience to sit on a call where the word “recession” or “bad economy” NEVER comes into the conversation. Why? Because people who attend the mastermind groups are already intermediate or advanced Internet marketers who are in the business of making money on the Internet.
And, it’s looking to me that the ONLY place to make money these days is on the Internet.
