HereNextYear Hosting offers High-Speed Internet connectivity through multiple Internet Service Providers. Performance of hosted applications depends on high speed Internet access that must be reliable and redundant. Our facility has multiple OC-12 and Gigabit Ethernet connections to the Internet through Tier 1 providers. Because of this connectivity and redundancy, the facility has not experienced a network outage since November 2001.
Redundant Power - The Hosting facility has redundant power including 8-hour battery backup and standby backup generators that are tested quarterly. Should power be lost to the facility, cutover to battery occurs in milliseconds with no loss of service.
High Availability Hardware configuration - Our hardware infrastructure is designed for reliability and up-time. To protect the most vulnerable system component (disks), we have invested in configurations that represent industry best practices for achieving maximum uptime for Dedicated Servers and Managed Hosting. Operating system, software, and data disk drives are protected with RAID 1 or RAID 5 hot swappable configurations. We also maintain spare hardware on-site and fully configured redundant servers ready to go in case of disaster.
Security Patch Management - Our staff follows CISSP recommended guidelines for security patch management and implementation. Security patches are tested within 24 hours after release by software vendors and applied into production environments during specified maintenance windows the following week during non-work hours.
Online Backups - Our standard package for SQL Server hosting includes two weeks of online backups with 2-hour transaction logging and standby redundant servers. Managed Hosting for web applications can be configured with redundant servers or clustering. Should a catastrophic hardware failure occur, redundant servers could be used to restore service with minimal downtime. Extended backup capacity is available for an additional charge. In summary, we have a tested disaster recovery plan in place and ready to go.
