Internet Marketing Mentoring
Versus Coaching
Internet marketing mentoring is different than coaching in that mentoring focuses on building an individual relationship between mentor and mentee that can last a lifetime. A coach only sticks around as long as you’re paying them. That’s one of the reasons why we believe Internet marketing coaching doesn’t work. There are other very specific differences you should know before looking for Internet marketing guidance so that you can choose wisely whether you really need an Internet marketing mentor versus a coach.

Every successful Internet marketer I know has had multiple “mentors” that they will bring up in conversation. But coaches? Rarely will you hear of a successful marketer on the Internet cite their “coach” as the reason for their success.
There are Three Types of Internet Marketing mentors that you should know about for when it’s time for you to seek one out:
Internet Marketing Mentor Type I – Individual One-on-One Mentoring
If you are lucky enough to find someone who is truly skilled in the many aspects of Internet marketing AND is willing to teach you “their own process” as opposed to following some sort of coaching script,
Internet Marketing Mentor Type II – Group Mentoring
I’m seeing group mentoring to be more of an intermediate level group coaching program these days. The cost is less than the Type I mentor but the caliber of the mentor is usually much higher. In fact, if you were to try to pay the leader of a Type II mentoring group for one-on-one mentoring, you would need to come up with several thousands of dollars per month for one meeting a week.
Internet Marketing Mentoring Type III – Combined Mentoring
This is the type of mentoring we practice at HereNextYear and have found it to be the most effective so far of the three. The concept is simple: Combine the act of serving as a mentor and service provider. Not only do we help construct a plan of implementation (like a coach), but we will actually perform the tasks you don’t want to do while mentoring and training you to participate in the process as well.
