If you are reading this page, you probably already have a live web site and have gained some Internet marketing strategy experience. A few months, or maybe even years have gone by, and you've had some success with your online efforts so far.
Your web site has paid for itself maybe, so you're not feeling desparation like you would if you felt like your web site is worthless.
But, there's just something missing as you get the feeling that more could be done if you could only figure out what else there is.
You feel like your Internet strategy has reached a plateau and you know your product and service is needed by far more than you're able to reach.
You realize a silent three-way battle has been building between your business, your competition and your own mind. An Internet Dogfight of sorts.
It's a Fight You CAN Win!
1) Have a clear picture of where you are now. Practically every new client that comes our way in this category has no idea about their visitor to sales conversion rates, their visitation rates, where visitors are coming from, or what they're clicking on when they get to the web site. If you hope to make any change tomorrow, you must know exactly what your true situation is today.
2) Have a defined goal of where you want things to be. "More sales" is not a goal. You need to document your expectations and using the statistics you're now keeping track of weekly and monthly, you can forecast your sales. As you go, monitor results of what worked and what didn't work.
3) Have the willingness to learn, try, and grow. Don't believe that you could've gone to a single Internet seminar in 2002 and that's all the education you needed to be a raging online success today. To take your Internet strategy to higher levels of results, you must routinely attend workshops, read books, listen to CD's and test, test, test.
The point is that if you truly want to take your web site to NEW heights, you're going to need to do something different than you are doing today. Fortunately, there is a proven process to make that happen!
Step 1) First, make sure your web site is selling to the best of its ability - Most people attribute low productivity from the Internet to low visitation. If your site does not convert visitors to customers with 1,000 visitors, it's not going to do much better with 100,000 visitors. Test and tweak your web site so that you have at least a 1% conversion rate or better. Anything less than that and you will be wasting time when you go after increasing traffic.
Step 2) Find some affiliate products to offer your clients - You should really have at least 10 affiliate products to offer your clients. Now, these have to be industry-related essential items that will truly help your clients once they become involved with your business. But, naturally, they will be looking to you for further guidance once you help them with the initial problem your business solves. Your just helping them with solutions...and potentially doubling your income at the same time!
Step 3) Document your conversion rates over time - As your conversion rates increase, keep a solid record of your sales performance. You will need it in the next step.
Step 4) Build a virtual sales force to sell your products and services for you - Once you prove your conversion rates, others will be able to tap into your enthusiasm and help sell your products and services. There's nothing new about having your own affiliate program, but there are definitely right and wrong ways to go about it. This could be your most significant area of addition or improvement. But, be careful with this one!
Step 5) Joint venture with a "golden goose" - For years, the Internet conferences have been full of buzz about joint venturing. But, you don't just go to Mark Victor Hansen and say, "Hey Mark, would you please send an email out to your list of 800,000 opt-in subscribers and promote my new product?"
You MUST be able to attract hosting partners before they will give you the time of day. How do you attract a "golden goose" joint venture host? By proving your conversion rates and displaying your conversion rates with your affiliates of course.
Bonus Step: Know What You Want to Do and Like to Do and Outsource the Rest

A Final Thought...
There's an important rule to follow with running any business. "If you're not growing, you're shrinking." There is no status quo on the Internet either. You must constantly evolve your Internet marketing plan or your competitors will emerge and pass you by.
There's another important rule that applies specifically to Internet marketing. No one ever turned rags to riches online on their own. They ALL had mentors. They all learned from others. You need to find someone to latch on to and grow with them as they provide guidance to you.
Why not let Marty Dickinson and HereNextYear provide that mentorship for you?
